Registration Notes 1. To be eligible for the discounted Early Bird Rate, your registration and payment must be received by 28 February 2009 - otherwise the standard rate will apply. 2. Discounted rates are available to financial members of the Australian Society for Microbiology (ASM) - click here to join or contact the ASM National Office - Memberships (tel: 03 9867 8699) to renew your membership. 3. To obtain the discounted Student Rate - a copy of your student ID card must accompany your registration

Changes or Cancellations

Cancellations (or changes or alterations) must be made in writing to the conference organisers and are not valid unless and Acknowledgement of Receipt has been issued by the conference organisers.
There will be no refund or credit for registration &/or ticket cancellations received on or after 20 April 2009.
Registration cancellations received on or after 20 April 2009 will incur an administration fee of $80.
Name changes can be made until 1 May 2009.
"No Shows" are still fully liable for all payment as invoiced unless notice of cancellation has been received and acknowledged by the conference organisers.

Discounted rates at the conference venue (The Carrington Hotel) have been specially negotiated for delegates!

Room Types (rates incl GST & daily breakfast)

Traditional (shared bathroom) - $110 per night
Colonial (private bathroom) - $130 per night

All rates include a light continental breakfast for one or two people sharing a room.
(An additional $12.50 per person is applicable for the Hot Breakfast Option.)

Rates are based on single or double occupancy - the third person sharing a room is an additional $40 per person inclusive of a light breakfast.

Rooms are limited and subject to availability - book early to avoid disappointment. Rates for pre & post stays are available upon request to The Carrington Hotel.

How to Book
Bookings should be made with The Carrington Hotel direct. When calling, you should say that you are a registrant to the Viruses in May 2009 conference (all requests for accommodation are cross-referenced with the conference organisers).

Important Note for Invited Speakers
The conference organisers will communicate with you direct with respect to any accommodation requirements and/or bookings.

Getting There

Taxis, limousines, The Airport Rail Link, Sydney Airport Express Buses and courtesy buses will take you from Sydney International Airport to Central Railway Station where trains to the Blue Mountains leave Sydney Central Station departing platforms 12 & 13 hourly.

Usually stopping at Strathfield, Parramatta, Penrith and all stations to Springwood, Katoomba, Mt Victoria or Lithgow.

City Rail also offer a number of rail/coach tour options including the Blue Mountains Link (Monday to Friday), Jenolan Caves Link (daily) and Blue Mountains Explorer Link (daily).

Tickets can be purchased from any CityRail Station and include return train fare and guided tour.
